Cape Winelands Tour

Enjoy the magic of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek as we discover a food, wine and cultural experience of the Cape Winelands.

  • Paarl. Simply a 40-minute drive outside Cape Town, at the foot of the second-largest granite outcrop in the world, you'll find an unexpected jewel: the scenic town of Paarl. Paarl proudly bears the title of the third-oldest town in South Africa. Standing tall on Paarl Mountain and celebrating the birth of Afrikaans is the Afrikaans Language Monument and just outside Paarl is Drakenstein Prison, where Nelson Mandela spent his last years of captivity and started his walk to freedom.
  • Visit one of Paarl's many award winning wine estates for wine tasting and a cellar tour.
  • Franschhoek. The Franschhoek Valley - first settled by French Huguenot refugees in 1688 - mixes magical ingredients to create unforgettable experiences. The main street is the heart of this vibrant village, lined with shops and specialist stores it is always buzzing. Franschhoek is the gourmet capital of South Africa. Franschhoek restaurants will treat you to cuisine that is delectably indulgent, ranging from gourmet to rustic with something to please every palate.
  • Lunch and wine tasting at one of Franschhoek's top restaurants.
  • Stellenbosch. The heart of the town lies somewhere near the oak-lined Dorp Street. With its venerable old buildings, this is the University's main thoroughfare, where modern student life sits comfortably side by side with our history and architectural heritage. The Stellenbosch Wine Route is arguably the country's most famous, and the Stellenbosch Wine of Origin area includes 106 cellars.
